Hold & earn

Holding $IUG is what earns you USDC. There is nothing else to do — no staking step, no registration for rewards, no button to press each round. This page covers how to buy, what qualifies you, and how the money reaches you.

Buying $IUG

You buy $IUG with USDC through the pool, from the official site. You will need:

  • A wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, or any injected wallet) set to Arc, chain 5042
  • USDC on Arc to spend
  • A small amount of USDC for gas — on Arc, USDC is also the gas token

The buy is two steps, each its own wallet confirmation:

  1. Approve the exact USDC amount you are spending. The approval is for that amount only, never unlimited.
  2. Buy, which swaps your USDC for $IUG.

The two-step approve-then-swap is normal for buying any token with USDC — the first confirmation lets the router move your USDC, the second does the trade.

Remember the 2% cap: a single wallet can hold at most 20,000,000 $IUG. If a buy would put you over, the site shows how much room you have left before you sign.

Qualifying for rewards

To be paid in a given 15-minute round, one thing has to be true at the moment of that round’s snapshot: your wallet holds at least $25 of $IUG, valued at the pool price.

That is the only condition. There is no minimum time you have to hold first — buy in, and if you are above $25 at the next snapshot, you are in that round. Sell below $25 and you simply stop qualifying until you are back above it.

The $25 floor exists so that reward rounds are not spent paying out dust to thousands of tiny dust wallets, which would cost more in gas than it delivers.

Getting paid

Each round, the keeper reads every holder’s balance, works out each qualifying wallet’s share of the 80%, and sends it as USDC. The payment lands in the same wallet that holds your $IUG. You do not claim it and you do not pay gas for it.

Your share is proportional. If qualifying wallets hold 10,000,000 $IUG between them and you hold 100,000 of that, you receive 1% of the round’s holder pot.

If a payment cannot be delivered — most often because the receiving address is a contract that rejects incoming USDC — the amount is not lost. It is recorded on-chain against your address, and you can withdraw it yourself whenever you want through the claim function. This only comes up in edge cases; for a normal wallet, USDC just arrives.

Checking what you earned

Payments are ordinary USDC transfers to your wallet, so they show up in your wallet’s history and in any Arc block explorer, marked as coming from the reward distributor. The pool price sets the dollar value of your holding at each snapshot, which is what decides whether you cleared the $25 floor that round.
